using it on real hardware

As you will know, the problem os using old DOS games on real hardware is the sound card support. With the demise of the ISA bus the support for these devices has faded, but there were several chipsets that provided Sound Blaster support. This is the case of the VIA 686B chipset. The PC/DOS mini HD image supports this chipset and the sound quality is really near the real hardware.

what boards are supported?

All VIA VT82C686A/686B/VT8231. I used an old thinclient, Termtek tk-3350 that's perfect because of its tiny size. Remember the VIA Epia C3 ITX boards? Those are supported too.
